Conxi Sane is a spanish multidisciplinary artist based between Berlin and Málaga.
Although she originally studied interior design and graduated in Fashion at (UAL) , nothing initially pointed toward a future as a painter.
At 19 she moved to London, living there for almost twelve years before making Berlin her home for the past decade; a journey of travel and a also a deep bond with different cultures that has broadened her perspective and shaped her artistic voice.
It was 9 years ago that she painted for the first time, an encounter with the medium that became a true revelation and the turning point of her path.
Since then, painting has become her primary language of self-expression, naturally expanding into ceramics and other mixed media.
Her practice focuses on abstract forms as a way to explore the subconscious and the emotional landscapes that shape the human experience. Profoundly inspired by the schools of Surrealism and Cubism, her compositions move between intuitive and descriptive, balancing complexity and simplicity.
Music as her lifelong passion, plays a central role in her creative process; In particular, the rhythms of Jazz, hip-hop and electronic music have guided her palette in recent years, bringing to life a series that has been positively acclaimed throughout Europe.
Conxi’s work manifests the abstract of the mind: our inner dialogues, hidden struggles, alter egos, and moments of personal growth. She reflects not only on her own journey into the mind, but also on the stories of those she crosses paths with.
Her art evokes the plurality of human experiences and it goes beyond visual pleasure. It invites us to face the raw, hidden parts of ourselves like fear, guilt, and unresolved emotions as well as to recognise our own light and resilience. She seeks to connect with people on a personal level, encouraging reflection on experiences that are often difficult to put into words. In her own words: “It’s not just about shapes or colours; it’s about capturing the inner conversations, the struggles, and those moments when we realised how far we’ve grown.”
The plurality of these experiences is reflected in her use of versatile combinations of techniques. Each piece is unique in its material language, ranging from oil painting to collage, lithography, ceramics, and clay.
Profoundly humanist at its core, conxi’s practice embraces a myriad of different experiences, giving form to both the intimate and the collective. Her body of work resonates as timeless yet deeply personal, affirming art as both a revelation and a shared space of connection.
